• Give it a once-overLook your scooter or e-bike over for loose bolts, cracks, or anything hanging off. Ten seconds now beats a breakdown later.
• Check the batteryEnough charge to get there and back? A dead battery far from home turns a fun ride into a long walk.
• Test the brakesSqueeze them before you go. They should feel firm and stop you quickly — not spongy or slow.
• Eyes on the tiresProperly inflated, no big cuts, enough tread. Good tires grip the road so you stay upright in a turn.
• Dress to rideClosed-toe shoes and clothes that will not catch. Skip loose laces and dangling straps near the wheels.
